Gensler Delivers Remarks at Treasury Market Conference

In his recent remarks before the Annual Treasury Market Conference in Washington, DC, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chair Gary Gensler discussed key aspects of Treasury markets including recent reforms. Chair Gensler noted that the U.S. transition to T+1 for equities, corporate bonds, and municipal securities was a “win” for investors. He noted that industry participants “worked, along with SEC staff, to make the transition happen smoothly.” He also highlighted changes to central clearing and margin collection that benefit financial market participants and investors. Chair Gensler added that Commission staff are “monitoring the development of additional methods by which registered investment companies will access central clearing.”
