Hughes Hubbard Releases “How to ESG: A Resource Guide for Establishing an ESG Program for Your Company”
A recent publication released by Hughes Hubbard & Reed entitled “How to ESG: A Resource Guide for Establishing an ESG Program for your Company” provides guidance to companies seeking to align themselves with the growing expectations of investors and regulators by acting on environmental, social and governance matters, including climate risk, stakeholder interests, and corporate transparency. The ESG Guide makes suggestions such as who within the organization should participate in the ESG program and topics the ESG program should cover, as well as surveying the current state of regulation and likely near-term developments. Specifically, the ESG Guide includes a section tailored to investment advisers and funds which details considerations for funds who wish to incorporate ESG considerations, outlines the applicable laws and regulations, disclosure guidelines, and ways to measure the fund’s impact goals.
