Crenshaw Confirmed to SEC, Enforcement Co-Chief Leaving
The SEC announced that Division of Enforcement Co-Director Steven Peikin will leave the agency this month. During his more than three years serving alongside Co-Director Stephanie Avakian, Peikin worked to better position the agency’s largest division to address emerging threats, increasing its efficiency and effectiveness in investigating and prosecuting violations of the federal securities laws, the SEC said. Avakian will remain director of the division. Meanwhile, the SEC issued a statement congratulating Commissioner Hester Peirce and new Commissioner Caroline Crenshaw on their Senate confirmations. “On behalf of our 4,500 dedicated colleagues, we applaud their long standing commitment to investors and look forward to their continued work to advance the SEC’s vital mission of protecting investors, maintaining fair, orderly, and efficient markets, and facilitating capital formation,” the SEC stated.
