This webinar will explore how the SEC’s recent interpretive releases on proxy voting matters may impact mutual funds, their investment advisers, and the independent boards that oversee them. The SEC’s two releases in August 2019 addressed, among other topics, the ability of investment advisers to establish a variety of different voting arrangements with their clients, matters investment advisers should consider when they use the services of a proxy advisory firm, and the treatment of proxy voting advice provided by proxy advisory firms as a “solicitation” under the federal proxy rules.
