Industry Groups to Meet With FSOC

The Financial Stability Oversight Council will meet with industry groups next week in a private meeting, according to Bloomberg. The meeting comes after calls for increased transparency from Congress and the GAO, and an indication from Treasury Secretary and FSOC Chair Jack Lew that the Council would consider changes to its process. A Treasury spokeswoman stated that “[s]taff is continuing to reach out to the financial industry, the advocacy community and others for input regarding their proposals for potential changes.” Bloomberg reports that representatives from the Investment Company Institute, the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, the American Council of Life Insurers, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce will attend the meeting.
