Webinar Archive: Gender Bias in Investment Professional Evaluations

Investment firms seek to expand diversity in their investment teams but it remains a challenge for most organizations. This research study identifies one key barrier to balanced staffing. Investment professionals who don’t exhibit certain behaviors are penalized in their evaluations, but only if they are women. This is demonstrated with experiments using CFA® conference attendees and supplemented with detailed interviews of male and female analysts and portfolio managers. Webinar attendees will learn about these biases and subsequently be able to ask the right questions in board meetings to ensure issues are addressed.
