About MFDF

The Mutual Fund Directors Forum is an independent, non-profit organization that serves independent directors of mutual funds and other U.S. registered investment companies.  The Forum seeks to enhance fund governance by building a strong community among independent directors through educational and networking opportunities and by providing directors with a strong voice in the key policy debates impacting directors’ effectiveness and the future of the fund industry.

Each member board has a seat on the Forum’s Steering Committee, giving members the opportunity to participate on a regular basis in the planning of Forum activities and the formulation of Forum policy. The Forum’s Board of Directors has extensive experience in mutual fund governance, and it is supported by an Advisory Board that is comprised of fund independent directors and individuals from major organizations supporting the mutual fund industry.

The Forum offers a diverse array of educational programs designed to address issues of concern for directors of all experience levels. In addition to formal education programs, the Forum is committed to offering opportunities for independent directors to learn from one another. The Forum’s success relies on the leadership and participation of intelligent and engaged individuals from our member fund complexes.
