The SEC has launched a web page, or portal, dedicated to XBRL, or "interactive data."Â According to the Commission, "[t]his page provides links from the SEC website to sources of information about XBRL technology, as well as creating and submitting XBRL-tagged interactive data files in compliance with Commission rules."
On the page, one can find links to interactive data rules and regulations, interpretive guidance, view submitted interactive data filings, and obtain technical manuals and background. Of particular interest to funds is a link to the February 11, 2009 release requiring mutual funds to provide risk/return summary information in interactive data format, as well as a link to staff observations from reviews of interactive data filings, as well as staff interpretive guidance and answers to questions frequently asked by filers.
The Commission's interactive data portal can be found at:Â http://www.sec.gov/xbrl/site/xbrl.shtml
