NYSE Regulation to be Outsourced to FINRA

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and NYSE Euronext have announced an agreement providing that FINRA will assume the market surveillance and enforcement functions formerly the responsibility of NYSE Regulation. Conditional on approval by the SEC, the agreement  would transfer the regulatory functions for NYSE Euronext's U.S. equities and options markets – the New York Stock Exchange, NYSE Arca and NYSE Amex -- to FINRA with an anticipated effective date at the end of June 2010.

FINRA currently provides similar services for NASDAQ, the BATS Exchange, and The International Securities Exchange.
