The SEC has announced that on Wednesday, July 12, the Commission will hear recommendations from the Commission's staff about whether to issue a concept release to solicit public comment on the U.S. proxy system. In the Sunshine Act notice for this meeting, the Commission stated that the meeting will:
. . . consider whether to issue a concept release to solicit public comment as to whether the Commission should consider revisions to its rules to promote greater efficiency and transparency in the U.S. proxy system and enhance the accuracy and integrity of the shareholder vote.
Wednesday's meeting is scheduled to start at 10:00AM EDT at the Commission's Washington, DC headquarters, located at 100 F Street NE. The meeting is open to the public and will be webcast via a link on the Commission's website, www.sec.gov.
