The staff of the Mutual Fund Directors Forum recently sent a letter to SEC Chairman Mary Schapiro on the topic of potential money market fund reform. The purpose of the letter was to provide input to the Commission on behalf of independent directors in light of recent proposals that have been made by others to either radically change or eliminate money market funds. The SEC has said publicly that it intends to issue a money market fund reform proposal this summer, and the Forum will likely provide comments on that proposal.
The full text of the letter is available on the Forum's website here.
