Join fund independent chairs and independent lead directors at the 2016 Spring Conference of Fund Leaders event on May 25 from 10:00 – 2:00 pm, in New York on the campus of Columbia Law School.
The roundtable will feature a discussion of the FSOC’s latest report on the asset management industry, which expressed concern about mutual funds’ “liquidity risk management practices and their portfolio composition as it relates to their liquidity profile.” Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the validity of the FSOC’s concerns about the mutual fund industry’s contribution to systemic risk.
The roundtable also will discuss how boards, under siege from many disparate forces, can adapt to meet current and future challenges such as capital market volatility and changing regulatory expectations. Millstein Center Chair Bill McCracken will lead a discussion of how board chairs can lead the way in meeting these challenges and working toward more effective governance.
As with every CFL event, there will be ample time for networking and conversation among fund leaders. There is no charge to attend the roundtable.
This program is only open to fund independent chairs and independent lead directors. To register, please click on the red "Register Now" button above (you will need to be logged in to the Forum's website and be a chair/lead independent director for this button to appear). If you have issues with registering online, please call the Forum at 202.507.4488.
The CFL is a unique gathering which provides fund independent chairs and lead independent directors with an opportunity to discuss important issues with other fund leaders. The CFL is a partnership of the Mutual Fund Directors Forum, the Ira M. Millstein Center for Global Markets and Corporate Ownership at the Columbia Law School, and independent leaders of mutual fund boards of trustees.
